Let's face it, moving is no picnic. Our experience has taught us that organization is the key to making relocating as smooth as possible. We hope that by using these helpful tips, your move will be much less stressful.
- Contact utility companies to change your services:
- Change your address with Canada Post, Banks, Credit Card Companies and any other miscellaneous companies you may have dealings with.
- Take your old phone book with you in case you need to contact someone from your former home.
- Host a garage sale to get rid of unused items ..... less packing for you to do and, if you're moving out of town, you will appreciate the extra space in your moving van.
- Packing tips:

- Create an "OPEN ME FIRST BOX" containing essentials such as toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, paper plates and cups, paper towels, snacks, coffee (don't forget your coffee pot), tea bags, light bulbs, flashlight, tools (screwdriver, pliers, hammer) and any other items your family can't do without.
- Use sturdy, reinforced boxes and pack heavier items in smaller boxes
- Mark fragile boxes so they can easily be identified.
- Pack dishes, bowls, plates and other glass objects vertically rather than flat and stacked
- Lastly, take all your personal documentation (medical, school and financial records) and medications with you for your security and your convenience.
